Pictures – Days 5-7 Holy Land Recap

So it is fitting that the days after I write a post about, "No time, no time," I didn't have any time to write on the blog. I'm sorry to disappoint our (small, but faithful) readers. Click through for a brief recap of days 5-7, plus some pictures!

So it is fitting that the days after I write a post about, “No time, no time,” I didn’t have any time to write on the blog. I’m sorry to disappoint our (small, but faithful) readers.

Days 5, 6, and 7 have been a whirlwind of activities. We visited Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world. We visited the baptismal site of Jesus on the Jordan River. We were guided by a Palestinian Christian, Kamal, during a day in Bethlehem, where we visited his home and had lunch. His mother cooked and told us stories about her life living in the West Bank. We visited the Church of the Nativity, joining the local Catholic community in there noon-time prayer at the Nativity Grotto (spot where Jesus was born), and celebrated Mass in Shepherd’s Field.

Today we prayed along the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), and celebrated Mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (the church which commemorates the spots of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection). We had a lecture on the religions of the Holy Land and their relations. We learned about the many different Christian communities present in Jerusalem (6 of them all share Holy Sepulchre, for instance). All this, plus the usual things like meals, shopping, and wine too! Suffice it to say, we’ve been busy!

Things are still processing from the past few days, so I’ll simply share some photos. More than anything, I’m grateful for the opportunity to travel on this sacred journey. And please continue to pray for us as we continue to pray for you.
