Verso understands pilgrimage. That’s the simplest way to put it. From logistics preparation to post-pilgrimage reflection, their goal is always to help pilgrims to seek God and to encounter God through travel to holy places. It’s a joy to partner with them as a pilgrimage leader because we share the same vision and goals: an encounter with Christ and his Church through pilgrimage.
Our experience with Verso was fantastic from start to finish – from preparing us ahead of time with rich spiritual reflections, to delivering an amazing pilgrim experience led by top-notch guides, to helping us debrief afterwards so we could soak in all the graces. Verso far exceeded our expectations and truly lives up to its name – taking pilgrims “to the heights” of Catholic spirituality.
The people at Verso make the difference! They are passionate about helping people strengthen their faith through the pilgrimage experience. This is a first-class organization, from the planning and preparation to the on-ground support. They are present and attentive throughout the entire experience.
Simply put, a pilgrimage is a spiritual journey. It can be made anywhere, by anyone, for just about any spiritual purpose. For Catholics, it means traveling to a destination — whether it’s a holy site, outdoor space, or even near home — to encounter God in a unique way. The goal is transformation. Anyone can travel to a location, but the pilgrim seeks to experience something deeper. In that way, a pilgrimage is never truly finished, because hopefully you will come back changed, unable to return to old ways of living or thinking.
Throughout history, pilgrims have embarked on their journey for a variety of reasons: with particular prayer intentions, for healing, for personal conversion, in thanksgiving for answered prayers, or to do penance for sins. Perhaps you want to go to the Holy Land to walk where Christ walked, travel to Lourdes in search of healing, or experience the history and beauty of the Church in Rome. There are almost as many reasons to go on pilgrimage as there are pilgrims.
Where should I go?
Some of our most popular pilgrimage destinations are Rome, the Holy Land, and the Camino in Spain. But maybe Our Lady of Guadalupe is calling you from Mexico, or the peace of Lourdes is what you need in your life right now. If you’re not sure where to go on pilgrimage, call us to help you discover your next destination!
Why is this company called Verso Ministries?
Nearly 100 years ago, Frassati wrote the words “Verso l’alto” on a now iconic picture of him as he scales the side of a cliff. Literally, the words mean “to the top” or “towards the heights.” Metaphorically, the phrase means, “orient your entire life toward God.” In all that you do, in all that you are, seek the path that leads you to God.
