Trip Overview

Join fellow members of the Diocese of Bridgeport on a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., led by Monsignor Robert Kinnally. Visit some of the nation’s most important Catholic landmarks, including the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the St. John Paul II National Shrine. Through Mass, guided tours, and time for prayer and reflection, you will deepen your appreciation for the Catholic faith in our country and grow in community with others from the diocese.

Please note: This trip is open to adults ages 18 and over.

Itinerary

October 23, 2026
  • Gather to depart from Bridgeport on a private coach bus and transfer to Washington, D.C. (estimated departure time of 7 a.m., drive time of 6-7 hours, including stops – breakfast/lunch on your own)
  • Mid-afternoon arrival in Washington, D.C.
  • Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a tour and time to prayerfully explore its more than 80 chapels
  • Dinner at a local restaurant before transferring to the hotel for check-in
  • Overnight in Washington, D.C.

Accommodations: Le Meridien, The Madison, The Westin DC Downtown or similar

October 24, 2026
  • Breakfast available at the hotel before departure (on your own)
  • Check out of the hotel
  • Morning visit to the St. John Paul II National Shrine, exploring his life and legacy in the museum and praying with his relics in the chapel
  • Celebrate Mass
  • Attend a tour and lecture on the campus of CUA (speaker to be confirmed – arranged by group)
  • Depart for your return to Bridgeport, stopping for lunch and dinner along the way (on your own)
  • Evening arrival back in Bridgeport (anticipated arrival between 8-9 p.m.)

Monsignor Robert Kinnally is Vicar General of the Diocese of Bridgeport and Pastor of Saint Aloysius Parish in New Canaan, CT. He has served in parish and diocesan ministry since his ordination in 2005. Monsignor was born in New York where he completed undergraduate and graduate studies and worked as a church musician. After a twenty-year career in university administration, he moved to Connecticut to begin his priestly formation. He attended seminary at Theological College of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Pricing is based on currency exchange rates as of March 2026. Final pricing may adjust based on any significant changes in currency exchange rates. Quoted rates may fluctuate based on accommodation selection and availability. Rates also assume a minimum of 20 full-paying pilgrims. Cancellation Policy

All cancellations of individual pilgrims must be made in writing (email or letter) to Verso Ministries. Cancellations are possible at any time, but refunds are subject to cancellation fees at the rates listed here. Cancellation fees are for individual pilgrims. Any cancellation charges incurred from other suppliers or vendors (flight, lodging, ground transportation, tickets, etc.) may come in addition to the administrative fees listed here. All group flight airline tickets, optional excursions, trip options, pre/post extensions, private transfers, and additional hotel nights are non-refundable 100 days or less prior to departure unless otherwise noted. We highly recommend the purchase of individual travel insurance.

  • Within 2 weeks of deposit: Free Cancellation*
  • 14 days after deposit and 91 days or more from departure: Deposit is retained
  • 90-61 days prior to departure: 25% of trip cost is non-refundable
  • 60-31 days prior to departure: 50% of trip cost is non-refundable
  • 30 days or less prior to departure: 100% of trip cost is non-refundable

*To qualify for free cancellation within 2 weeks of deposit, deposit must be made 180 days or more prior to departure.

Important Information for Pilgrims Seeking to be Matched With A Roommate

  1. Pilgrims who register by themselves can indicate in their Pilgrim Portal that they would like to be matched with a roommate. Verso Ministries will make every effort to accommodate that request, however, cannot guarantee that this will be possible.
  2. If, by 90 days prior to departure, Verso has not been able to match a solo pilgrim with a roommate, the single room supplement will be applied to the pilgrim’s invoice and due for payment.
  3. If Verso is able to match a pilgrim with a roommate after they have paid the single room supplement, the pilgrim will be refunded the extra charge.
