  • Depart the U.S. on your overnight flight to Rome
November 3, 2026
  • Arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport and meet your tour escort who will be accompanying you for the duration of the pilgrimage
  • Visit the Catacombs of San Callisto
  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Continue on to the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls and pray at the tomb of St Paul
  • Celebrate an Opening Mass
  • Transfer to the hotel to check-in (typically available from 3pm) and freshen up
  • Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Overnight in Rome

  • Attend the Papal Audience (pending the Holy Father’s schedule)
  • Time for lunch
  • In the afternoon, celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St Mary Major, the oldest Marian shrine in the West, containing a relic of the Bethlehem manger
  • Continue on to the Basilica of St John Lateran, the oldest basilica in the West and cathedral of the Diocese of Rome, housing a relic of the Last Supper Table
  • Free for the rest of the evening
  • Option to visit the Holy Stairs or the Basilica of Santa Croce
    • Alternatively, walk down to the Colosseum and Roman Forum for views of Ancient Rome
  • Overnight in Rome

  • Enjoy a morning at the Vatican with a private Mass and a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, in which you’ll see Michelangelo’s Pieta and learn about the architecture and popes buried there

  • Late entrance to the Vatican Museums and an opportunity to see such highlights as the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms, and the Gallery of Maps

  • Explore the piazzas and churches of Rome in a city center walking tour led by Fr Jaffe
    • Stops to include: Piazza Navona, Sant’Agnese in Agone, San Luigi dei Francesi, the Pantheon, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Sant’Agostino, Sant’Ignazio, Dodici Apostoli, the Gesu, and Chiesa Nuova
  • Mass to be celebrated at one of these churches
  • Free for the rest of the evening, depending when the tour concludes

  • Transfer to the medieval town and World Heritage Site of Assisi
  • Stop to celebrate Mass at Santa Maria degli Angeli, with the Porziuncola, where St Francis founded the Franciscan order, and the Chapel of the Transitus, where he died

  • Dinner at local restaurant
  • Overnight in Assisi

  • Morning Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, where St Francis is buried and famous for its frescoes by Giotto
  • Enjoy a guided tour of Assisi’s Old Town, including visits to the Santuario Della Spogliazione, the tomb of St Carlo Acutis in the Church of St Mary Major, and the Basilica of St Clare
    • Note: on Sundays, tours cannot include the Basilica of St Francis
  • Continue exploring at your own leisure

  • Morning departure for a day trip to Siena

  • Celebrate a Closing Mass at the Shrine of the House of St. Catherine, and visit the museum there

  • Visit the Monastery of the Incarnation, where St John of the Cross served as a confessor and received a vision of Christ on the cross

Please note that group airfare tickets are Economy class and not eligible for upgrades. Group airfare tickets also restrict passengers from choosing seats. All group flight tickets are roundtrip airfare. Pilgrims must fly on both the outbound and return flights with the group. If a pilgrim does not fly on the outbound flight, the airline will cancel their reservation on all flights without refund.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations of individual pilgrims must be made in writing (email or letter) to Verso Ministries. Individual pilgrims should cancel with their group leaders, who are then responsible for notifying Verso Ministries in writing (email or letter). Cancellations are possible at any time, but refunds are subject to cancellation fees at the rates listed here. Cancellation fees are for individual pilgrims. Any cancellation charges incurred from other suppliers or vendors (flight, lodging, ground transportation, tickets, etc.) may come in addition to the administrative fees listed here. All group flight airline tickets, optional excursions, trip options, pre/post extensions, private transfers, and additional hotel nights are non-refundable 100 days or less prior to departure unless otherwise noted. We highly recommend the purchase of individual travel insurance.

  • After deposit and 91 days or more from departure: Deposit is retained
  • 90-61 days prior to departure: 25% of trip cost is non-refundable
  • 60-31 days prior to departure: 50% of trip cost is non-refundable
  • 30 days or less prior to departure: 100% of trip cost is non-refundable

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I register now?

The sooner you register for the pilgrimage, the better! Pilgrimages can fill up quickly, especially if pilgrims decide to bulk register as a group, so registering as soon as you think you will be able to travel with us guarantees you a spot on open pilgrimages. If you register and find out you can no longer attend, as long as you registered more than 180 days prior to the departure and cancel within 14-days of registering, we will fully refund your deposit. Just send us a written confirmation of your cancellation and we will take care of the rest.
